May good fortune shine on you in the New Year! Happy Chinese New Year 2023

The Chinese New Year is one of the most celebrated holidays in China, and it is steeped in legend and folklore.

According to one of the oldest stories, a monster called Nian would come to town every New Year’s Eve and terrorize the villagers until one day a wise man appeared and used loud noises and bright lights to scare the monster away. The villagers adopted the strategy of setting off firecrackers and hanging red lanterns to ward off evil spirits and ensure a prosperous New Year.

Today, the Chinese New Year is celebrated with traditional activities such as lion dances, parades, and family reunions. People exchange gifts, feast on special dishes, and decorate their homes with red paper lanterns and banners wishing for a prosperous new year.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year!
