The villagers adopted the strategy of setting off firecrackers and hanging red lanterns to ward off evil spirits and ensure a prosperous New Year.

Today, the Chinese New Year is celebrated with traditional activities such as lion dances, parades, and family reunions. People exchange gifts, feast on special dishes, and decorate their homes with red paper lanterns and banners wishing for a prosperous new year.
